The SFAA offers two opportunities for the general public to join club members for viewing:
- On Mt. Tamalpais we collaborate with the Friends of Mt. Tam for a full evening of astronomy each month from April through October. (If you join the SFAA, you can attend the monthly Mt. Tam members-only viewing night as well.)
- In San Francisco we host a monthly City Star Party at either the Presidio Parade Grounds, Point Lobos near Lands End, or other announced locations.
